I had never been to a football game until this past Saturday when I attended an Oklahoma University Sooners game. We went early and enjoyed tailgating before the game. It is indeed a culture all its own, and I am so fortunate to have gotten to experience it.
The football game was quite the production. The band was amazing! They definately kept the crowd going, along with the Pom-Pom Squad, the Cheer Squad, the Mascots, and the rest of the Spirit team! It was very evident that the OU student's are like family, and that the alumni definately feels a strong connection to the University.
The football game itself was enjoyable, with the Sooners easily winning their final home game for the season in front of over 85,000 fans! Isn't that number incredible? Take a look:
That isn't even half of the stadium! And did I mention that they STAND for almost the entire game?!?
Check out the great form of the band members too. They sure were fun to watch.
When the sun went down, it definately did get chilly. Other than that it was a very enjoyable experience.
